  1. I was on Jeopardy last year, and I can't think of 30 rules.  What kind of homework is this?

I can give you a few.  I'm sure you know you must phrase your answer in the form of a question.  When you're there, you cannot ring in until the entire question has been read.  Lights go on around the board when you can ring in.  If you ring in too soon, you will be locked out for a few seconds before you can ring in again.  If a word or phrase is in quotation marks, it will be part of the answer--like "ing" or "end" or whatever.  If the answer is a title, you must get it exactly right.  If it's a person, just the last name is usually acceptable, unless it's something like President Roosvelt or Johnson--two had that last name, so you have to give the first name.

On Final Jeopardy, you can misspell the answer if it does not add a syllable or make the answer incorrect.   If you spell it phonetically, you're OK.  Like, the second game I won, the Final Jeopardy answer was "What is the Sargasso Sea?"  My opponent, who was leading and I was sure would win, wrote "What is the Saragasso Sea?"  This was not just a misspelling, it changed the word.  (He told me later he really thought that was the name.)

Also, you don't answer the question until Alex calls on you.  There are lights inside the podium that count down the time you have to answer.

I hope this helps.  It's a bizarre assignment, I think, but you can tell your teacher that a Jeopardy champion helped you out.  :-)
