can u tell me how to evaluate this problem-6=12/3*2

  1. okay, when you are doing a complex equation, or an equation that has multiple signs, such as /, *, +, - then you need to take care of the problem in a series of steps, known as PEMDAS. each letter in "PEMDAS" reflects the steps you do to complete it.

    P-Parentheses (none in this problem, so skip)

    E-Exponent(none in this problem, so skip)

    M-Multiplication (so: you do multiplication first! 3*2=6)

    D-Division(now that you have 12/6 as the only thing left...you get 2 as your answer.

    since the problem is done, there is no need to continue using PEMDAS.

    since you got 2 as your answer, and the problem solves to say 6=2, you know that is wrong...because 6 things aren't the same as 2 things. therefore you would write "incorrect" or "false" as your answer.
