  1. This question is like any other factoring problem. first, u multiply the whole equation by 2. this gives 2x^2-x=10. bring 10 to the left side. this gives us 2x^2-x-10=0. factor this and u get (2x-5)(x+2)=0 which means x=5/2 or x= - 2. i am a college student. trust me. i hope u understand how i did this. dont just copy please.

  2. put the equation into a more standard form

    1.x^2-2^(-1).x-5=0

Then use the quadratic equation x=-(b(+,-)root(b^2-4ac))/2a

    Which yields [1/2+root(20.25)]/2 and [1/2-root(20.25)]/2

  3. i would give x a value first. like 2

    so 2^2 - 2/2 = 5

    then solve,

    2^2= 4

    2/2= 1

    4-1=5

wrong so you cant solve for x.

    remember PEMDAS

    parenthesis

    exponits

    multiply

    divide

    add subtract.

and whatever you do to the one side you have to do to the other.

if you need anymore help feel free to contact me,

    i love simple algebra,

i'm going to be a sophmore and am starting algebra 2 soon,

but i still remember simple algebra.

    (:

    hope i helped.
