I need ACT help?

alright I just got my ACT score back and I got a 20 overall, which isnt horrible. I also took the writing part of it also but that score isnt up yet. How much do you think I could raise my overall score if I had a good essay. Would it go up like 8 points or would it just not even make a dent?

  1. The writing does not factor into the composite at all :(

  2. Nope, sorry. It won't change your overall score at all. The writing test score is separate from the overall composite score. Even if you got the highest score possible on the essay, you will still have a 20 overall.

  3. The writing test is indeed not scored in with your composite (overall) score. However, there is a combined writing/english score that ranges from 1 to 36.

So, basically if you had a good essay it wouldn't make a difference to your composite score, but it would make some difference to your combined writing/english score.
