I'm on a tight budget and recently discovered a place that has used goalie skates. One is a modekl about, lets say 8 years old ofr Graf pro goalie skates. They have some wear, a little bit of rust, but I only need them for two seasons.

Option 2 isanothe rused pair of Bauer Reactors 5000. Both these skates are from a play it again.

Which do you recomend for a butterfly/hybrid goalie that needs skates to last two seasons?

  1. Graf skates are the most durable and protective on the market, but the Bauer's you might be able to get bake-fitted to your foot. How much wear? Are the ankles still stiff? Is there much of a difference in price/size? What level are you looking to play at? What is your budget?

Bake fit means they can be "moulded" to your foot. I forgot to mention earlier you should also check the condition of the cowlings and how much blade is left

  2. I'd go with the Bauer Reactors, 8 years is way too old for you to trust them to protect you.  If you can afford it I'd strongly recommend getting new cowlings, here's a link        http://www.goaliemonkey.com/ccm-goalie-c...

  3. i say you should go with the Bauer Reactors rly good skates

  4. I would go with the Reactors but that's just me.  Lot's of guys swear by their grafs, but at 8 yrs old, I would stay away from them.  Baking your skates is when they heat them up and you tie them real tight to your feet and walk around and it molds them to your feet for a better fit.  I would recommend doing this.
