I have a 1986 wellcraft 192 classic with a alpha one 165 mercruiser. I lost the gas cap and i cant find which size it was. i bought a 1 1/2 inch cap but it was too big. i biought a 1 inch it was too small. they were out of 1 1/4 plugs. this is a male gas plug by the way. is it soppose to be 1 1/4 inch or is it another size. no website tells me what size to use for which boat. i dnt feel like waiting 4 weeks for them to order the 1 1/4 if its not going to fit. Thanks!

  1. Call a dealer and ask them what size it takes

  2. It's a marine size so go to the marine store and see if you can get a complete 1 use the cap or replace the entire 1>

  3. 45 Cal has given a good answer but if dealerships are hard to come by in your area try contact Wellcraft directly. They will be able to give you the correct size and should be able to get one out to you...unless they only sell to dealers. Their link is below...
