I have a 30 gallon fish tank and its cloudy really cloudy its so bad i can hardly see through it..

Ive had my fish tank running for about 6 days now and put the Stress Zyme in it to build up the the bacteria needed for a tank. And I put some fish in it 3 days ago. and all of the sudden my whole tank is cloudy and ive lost 4 fish

1 Black fin shark

1 Scissor Taiil

2 Neon Tetras

And some of my other fish are acting weird

I have treated the water and its been almost around 48 hours and the treatment only made it worse.

Whats wrong???

  1. read this... keeping fish is WAY more than throwing fish in a some water:

  2. Change 70% of the water and clean the filter then add stress zyme and stress coat. hope this helps.

  3. Stresszyme does nothing.  You can only buy live bacteria if it is refrigerated so you basically wasted your time and money on that.  Your tank is trying to cycle now and you're getting bacteria bloom.  It is much better to cycle without fish and the fish you do have are not hardy enough to survive cycling probably.

You'll need to get a test kit and start doing partial water changes daily and monitoring your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels.  http://www.aquatic-hobbyist.com/profiles...

  4. Sounds to me like you didn't rinse off your sand.  You should have never added any fish, especially that many, if your tank was not cycled.  If you don't have one already, get a skimmer and that will get most of the cloudy stuff out.  If you have only had this tank for 6 days now,  please take those fish back to where you got them from so they have a chance to live. I wish you luck and remember, patience is one of the most important things that will guarantee your success in this hobby.  Your fish will thank you for it in the long run.

  5. your pH level is probably wrong; get a meter to test for it. meanwhile, take all the fish out and place them in a separate tank temporarily until you figure out what's causing the mucky water. have you changed out the water recently? have you cleaned the pebbles or assortments at the bottom of the tank? are you feeding the fish too much? trial and error is really the only way to solve this problem.
