  1. Biotic means living, so think of two living things in a pond that might interact.  E.g. lily pad and frog, as in the frog interacts with the lily pad when it sits on it.

    Not sure which aboriginal people you are referring to re:aboriginal seasons.  I'm assuming since you capitalized the A in "Aboriginal" that you are from Australia.

    Bininj/Mungguy (local Aboriginal people) recognise six seasons in the Kakadu region:

        * Gunumeleng - Pre-Monsoon Storm Season

        * Gudjewg - Monsoon Season

        * Banggerreng - Knock 'em down storm Season

        * Yegge - Cooler but still humid Season

        * Wurrgeng - Cold Weather Season

        * Gurrung - Hot Dry Weather

    ETA-the names and descriptions of the seasons change within different regions of Australia.  Google "Aboriginal Seasons"

    Hahaha...just realizing that perhaps my greater clue to your whereabouts should have been the time.  It's pretty late to be doing homework on this side of the Pacific!

  2. 1- other than snow on the ground to identify winter, and hot to ID summer..... equinoxs and solstices.
