I need Sims 2 help!!?

I have bought Sims 2 University and installed it. I have played it heaps and now when i want to play it again It doesn't work. It doesn't come up with anything. I put the disc in and I can hear the computer trying to read the CD and then it stops. So when I click the Sims 2 Logo on my desktop it doesn't do anything. I can't take the disc back and I don't know what to do. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. But it does the exact same thing. I need help!!

I once had university and it worked fine, on an older computer and do dont have anymore have anymore. maybe its memory? ...

all i can think of is to uninstall university and return it for another expantion like bon voyage or something.

once you put the disc in listen to hear if it make a high pitch noise if it does the the drive is broken and you need a new computer if it doesn't then you should bring up the control panel delete the sims 2 and sims university then re install them that should work hope i helped
