I'm looking to get a motocross bike but i'm having trouble deciding what to get. the motor sports shop in my town doesn't currently have any 125's that i can sit on and try for size. I'm about 5' 4" and 120 lbs but i'm only 13 so i'm gonna grow. Do you think a 125 is too big? if so any suggestions

  1. Go and have a sit on a crf150r as you could get a few years out of one of those before you had to move on and you would be fine on one of those.  If you really feel you want a 125cc then get an electric knife and take the cover off the seat and trim the seat down, then replace the cover and staple it back on.  That will bring you a bit lower to the ground.  Make sure the suspension is set up by someone who knows what they are doing to your weight as then you wont get thrown around as much on the bike.

  2. when i moved up to my yz250f and yz125 i have 14 years old and 5'5 i just leaned to one side a bit. it don't matter when u get going.  u will be fine on one. email me with any questions

  3. My son is 14y/o he is 5'2" he is still on yz85s for the rest of this season....Then he will start the next race season on a 250..

The 125 is a little bit taller then the 250

They make big-wheel 85s and big wheel 150Rs....I guess the best thing for you to do is sit on a few to see what fits you the best...

  4. no you should get a 150

  5. Yes! you have a few more years to shine on the 85, or the CRF150R. You will be riding four strokes for the rest of your life since the future is going that way. Go with the Honda CRF 150(R). The 125 is pointless, I raced and loved 125's for many years but the time has come it is a 4 stroke future!
