  1. no G cable its G wireless connection and better than B you need a etherent cable to hook up wired. and you need to go to start, contol panel, network connectiona nd create a wirless connection. disable wried if you have it enabled!

  2. The router should have come with an instructions manual, but in short:

Plug the cable/dsl into the modem from your internet company. Connect a ethernet cable between the modem and the LAN port of your router.

Read the instructions on how to access the administrative interface for the router and enable wireless.

  3. Plug the internet cable (dsl/cable) from the wall into the back of the modem.

Plug a ethernet cable (looks like a large phone line) into the modems ethernet port and connect it to the internet port on the router.

Plug another ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports on the router and plug the other end into you ethernet card on your desktop computer.

Power the modem and the router.

Install the software that came with the router on the desktop computer) and follow the instructions in the manual.

Secure the router with a password (instructions in the manual)

    done.

  4. Wall => Modem (given by your ISP) => Your new G router

    )))) computers

So Your modem is probably set the way it needs to be already (what with you being able to post on Y!A and all)

So take a CAT5e ethernet cable (the usual network cable with the BIG phone looking plug) and run it from the data post on the modem to the WAN or INTERNET port of the router. Plud any WIRED computers directly in to the available ports on the ROUTER. use the wireless to connect and wireless computers.

Once you have things strung together right, you will need to use a web browser to configure your router. Usually you log in to the router at 192.168.1.1 or something similar. The instructions on how to log in and configure things like WEP encryption will come with the router.
