I would like to know if anyone knows a fast growing creeper that is also pretty. I have 2 poles in my back yard that arent coming up so I was going to plant a creeper around them so eventually they will be covered up. Also do I need to put something between the poles to help the creeper up? The poles are about 3 feet apart from each other. Oh and the less maintenance the better, i have quite the black thumb.

Also how do you make bad soil good soil. Best fertilizers from experience? Watering routines, times, etc? My yard isnt in the best shape and I'm trying to turn it around for my sons birthday. Thank you for any and all help!

  1. To answer your yard questions,  To make bad soil good soil you simply get some good topsoil, and compost and mix it into the soil.  The organic matter improves the soil.  I know you have a black thumb but the best chemicals are the ones the pros use, True Green, Perennial Green, etc. because they have a pesticide liscence they can get better chemicals.  And it doesn't cost a whole lot more to have them take care of your lawn.  They usually do a good job applying them as well.  I've seen countless times where people have put fertilizers down wrong and ended up with tiger stripes in the lawn because of it.  I would recommend having your lawn treated by a professional with a good reputation.  But if you want to do it yourself Scotts or Bayer makes good products.

A lawn should always be watered early in the morning or you get a fungus.  And since the lawn needs at least an inch of water per week it is best to apply the water in two deep waterings each week.  Doing this promotes deep root growth and also allows the grass to dry out.  If you water everyday you will get shallow roots and the deeper the roots the better.  As I said before early  morning is the best, 4-6 am.  So the grass has time to dry out.  Don't believe the myth you are sure to hear that grass that is wet in the day will burn.  That is a myth.
