    You definitely want something funny... try "Lunch" from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.


  2. I can offer you a monologue I wrote many years ago titled "Labor Day."  It's been performed as part of a stage play I wrote titled "Faces In The Raft."

    It may be a bit too dark, but it's suitable for a 14 year old.

    It's Labor Day again.  Time for the annual pilgrimage.

    Very few people can listen to their child when the mountains are pretty and Santa's Village lies just down the road.  The best things in life are free, so Santa's Village must be even better.  The stream we asked to explore will have to wait.

    Santa's Village delivers its promises; a reindeer park, masonry elves, and a Santa to tell your heart's desires to; a toy car (freedom), a doll (love), a toy soldier (peace).  The list is pretty much the same for all of us who sit on Santa's lap, head pressed to his red-velvety chest while a black, gloved hand brushes aside a tear barely held back.  

    The toys come, and with each passing year we learn not to ask for them, or the stream, anymore.

  5. I like the monologue from Hunter S.Thompson's novel made into a movie. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. At the start. The intro. 'We were somewhere around Barsto on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold, I remember saying something like I feel a bit light headed, maybe you should drive' Sorry tried to find a link for you. To no avail.

  7. I think a really strong and good monologue would be Maria'ss monologue at the end of west side story right after Tony dies if you can pull it off it would be amazing

    Maria is kneeling over Tony's murdered body)

    Maria: (to both gangs) Stay back!!

    (She stands, and puts her hand out to Chino, motioning for the gun. Dazed, he gives it to her) (just pantamine the ppl and a gun)

    Maria: How do you fire this gun Chino? By pulling this little trigger!? How many bullets are left Chino? Enough for YOU? Or YOU? All of you!! You ALL killed him! And my brother! And Riff! Not with bullets and knives! With HATE! Well, I can kill now too, because now I have hate!!! How many can I kill Chino? How many -- and still have one bullet left for me(puts gun to head for about 5 seconds then pretend to fire it in the air and scream) ? Don't touch him!! (she kneels down next to Tony's body) Te adoro Anton
