-pirce range $0-$150 (maybe a lil more if the bikes worth it)

  1. Alright well i dont think you are the best website, im a very avid biker, i bike everyday, i prefer to downhill and dirt jump, and i just bought my bike for $2400..  a $150 limit, will unfortunatley limit you to only department store bikes(walmart, zellers, sportcheck), sport check actually does have some have some half decent bikes but buying a bike from a store that specializes in bikes will give you a better understanding of what your biking, but you may get things like free tune ups, etc... this also means your going to be paying more. Things you need to know:

-Do not get a bike with a rear shock(the big spring in the back), this is not meant for doing much pedalling and it takes away about half of your pedalling power)

-Your fork( Shock of the front) should have low travel(1-4 inches) and should be pretty tight( not too much movement), less movemnt in your shocks= more pedaling power.

-Try to get a bike with thin tires, this will reduce the weight

    - Make sure that when you test the bike, you can get into the highest gear quite easily.

-If you like to go fast, your going to want to have a fairly high seat to higher your center of gravity, make sure the seat post( the post the seat is attatched to) is strong and long enough for your personal comfort.

-Some brands that you should keep in mind are: Supercycle, Iron Horse, CCM, RST.

-If you would like to spend a bit more you should look into bike companies such as: Gary Fischer or Look.

-If you want to go high end, you should check out some companies such as: Kona, Specialized or Norco

  2. Most bikes are considerably more expensive then your price range, it shocked me quite a bit when I went looking for a bike last month.  I would suggest you get at least 10 gears to optimize your speed.  as far as comfort go try to steer away from aluminum frames as they tend to feel the road more.  Most the other comfort will be in the seat, which varies from person to person.

Anywho, here's a link that may help you get started

  3. SINCE I DONT KNOW IF YOUR A BOY OR GIRL IM JUST GUESSING GIRL.... SO THIS IS FOR A GIRLS BIKE!!!

i just got a Schwinn 26" Roxie Cruiser bike at Target It was pre-assembled, has 7 speeds, and since it is a cruiser it is VERY COMFY. the seat is wide and cushioned, the handlebers curve in so you don't have to lean forward, plus it had fenders so cinders dont fly up into your face. it also has shock absorbers. it has a 50's mixed with modern look to it. also its PINK! i got it on sale for $119. usually, it's $149.99. also its very simple and rides well.

i think it meets your requirments:

-just for sidewalks and streets --> its made for sidewalks and streets

-i like to go fast --> you can go fast

    -comfy? --> YES!!!

-pirce range $0-$150 (maybe a lil more if the bikes worth it) -->  on sale : $119   regular : $149.99 ( still technicaly in range and i promise you its worth it!)

-great look --> as i mentioned before : 50's mixed with modern, cute, and pink!!

the only place to buy it is target also. here is the link to it!!

  4. get a mountain bike. they have gears so it's easy to go uphill. they have suspension unlike BMX bikes. and if you live near the sea get it in aluminum so it doesn't rust.

  5. a nice 21speed bike. an urban one, pretty much a bike for getting around. like a mountain bike

  6. Since you are a teenager and probably wont be riding more than 5 or six miles a day at most you dont need a super nice bike. In fact you could probably just go to walmart or a big store like them and test out a bike there it doesnt need to be a Trek or any other top brand just buy something that comfortable I also recomend buying a pump and a wate bottle holder and a lock for your bike 3 things that will help a lot.

  7. What I would recommend is that U find a friend who knows about bikes or see if U can persuade a mechanic from a bike shop 2 come with U 2 a thrift shop or yard sale/flea market and look around, U could pick up a decent mountain bike 4 under 20 bones. I've seen some killer bikes @ thrift shops. All when I did not have money.

Also bear in mind if U get a bike @ walmart/kmart/costco etc it will probably have been assembled by some1 who may not have known jack **** about bikes, requiring U 2 take it 2 a bike shop and have it properly adjusted.

With that kind of budget U might be able 2 pay the mechanic 5 or 10 bucks 2 come with U. He would be especially motivated if U were gonna take the bike 2 the shop he worked @ 4 NEW work that needed 2 be done(there would likely be some).
