I need a DVR but no subscription and to work off coax cables like a vcr?

Question

I have a TV with a vcr and I plug the coax into the back of the vcr and another coax to the TV. So is there any device that I can use like a DVR but be hooked up like my VCR? I have seen some dvd recorders with a built in hard drive that look pretty tempting... I don't know anything about this stuff, all i know is that I don't want to pay a subscription. Please tell me something that i can buy that will solve my problem. Thank you!

Hi Ken,

Walmart sells a good DVD recorder with a built in hard drive. You program it like you did an old VHS. There is no subscription or fees of any kind.
