Buying my first set of pots and pans (yay!), I'm looking at Farberware at Walmart but want to know what you use... I'm looking to spend about $80 or less.. I cook every day, I want nonstick, I'd like them to hold up the dishwasher quite well as I will probably be washing them every day. Also, with the pans you selected, do I need to use plastic or metal utensils, I notice that with some metal will scrape the bottom but that may just be the cheap pots I've been putting up with until now :(

SOOO.. brand name, how many dishes come with, approx. price, where you got them from. Thanks!

  1. My best suggestion is to avoid sets, yeah you get a lot of pots(depending on what you get) at once but a lot them are junk in my opinion. Farberware is ok after six months of use I had a problem with the handles warping.  I like to buy each piece seperate that way I get what i want. But I've been using the Cuisinart Kitchen ProBlack Aluminum Non-Stick Cookware Series, they have a 10 piece set at Bed Bath and Beyond for $99, they are a solid middle of the road cookware with a life time warranty. Bed Bath and Beyond generally starts to rotate new series in at this time of year so you may also find good items and a lower price then what they sell online.
