Moira (pronounce "moora") and our last name has only one syllable.

We have considered

Moira Tamar

Moira La'El

    Moira Selah

    Moira Beth-el or Beth'el

    Moira Elika

    Moira Elisabeth

    Moira Tebeth

    My favorite is Moira Tebeth.

  8. I like Eve or Eden.

  9. uhhhhhhhhhhhh Luna idk

  10. okay, first, the middle name shouldn't end with the 'a' sound. it doesn't end up sounding right. secondly, since moira is 2 syllables (love the name, btw) the middle name shouldn't have the same amount of syllables. names that have varying syllables roll off the tongue better and create a rhythm. and since moira is such a strong name and your last name is one-syllable, i recommend using a 3-syllable middle name. finally, i'm not a fan of having the first name and the middle name have the same initial. i have a first and middle name both starting with L, and it doesnt sound well. so, i would say don't use m.

i recommend the names elizabeth or gabrielle. they are both very sweet and obviously feminine, would tone down the strong sound of moira. congratulations on your baby!

  11. I love the name Moira but I think it's pronounced "Moy-Ruh". If you pronounce it "Moo-ruh" not only will ppl pronounce it wrong, kids will tease her and call her a cow. "Moo Moo".

However if you meant that it is pronounced "Mo-rah" (like Norah) that's okay but ppl will still pronounce it wrong.

I agree with the person that said don't go with Tamar. She was kinda scandolous.

It's always a good thing to consult the Bible when naming your baby after a character, a lot of the females in the Bible were prostitutes and for this reason I will never name my daughter Rahab or Jezebel.

    I like:

    Moira Naomi

    Moira Rachel

    Moira Danielle

    Moira Jane

    Moira Hannah

    Moira Eden

  12. Shiba, Michal, Miriam

  13. Moira Elizabeth

    God bless!

  14. Well, most hebrew/biblical names end in either "ah" or "el".  Since Moira has the "ah" sound, I'd go w/ a middle name ending in "el".

    Rachel

    Gabrielle

    Danielle

    Michelle

    Ruth

    Naomi

    Josephine

    Elizabeth

feminine versions of male bible names:

    Davida

    Jamie

    Andi

    Thomasina

    Simone (sih-MOAN)
