  1. You've really got one built in. Just make running the house a family affair.

Have your kids work with you on household chores including cooking in age appropriate ways. They will naturally learn how to cook and clean. Even a two year old can shred lettuce for a salad. Any child who knows the colors can be taught to sort laundry, and they can set the table as soon as they are tall enough.

When you do the bills let them see the invoices, show them how you pay bills, and explain your budget to them. As they get older let them participate in the process. This will help them learn about personal finances and if they understand where the money goes, it may very well reduce the number of things your kids ask for and decrease arguments when you say no.

You teach social skills by modeling them and by correcting problems that you notice in the way they interact with others. When they are displaying proper manners in public, without prompting, they are probably ready (assuming they are old enough) to hang out with their friends unsupervised. (This is  one of my favorite things about homeschooling. You get to be there. Parent's can't do this if their kids are in public schools.)
