Question:

I need a New Hobby, I've lost interest in all of my usual activities. Any ideas?

I'm 14 and I think I've been depressed so I'm trying to find a new way to just let myself go free. I cant find anything that I enjoy though. I quit all of the sports Ive done, I stopped playing flute, and I don't bake anymore. Please leave me any suggestions and Ideas I'm desperate to come out of my depression.

  1. Try Metal Detecting or Treasure Hunting! I started this hobby a few years ago and I've been addicted to it since then! You'll be surprised how many new interesting things in life you might discover besides valuable coins and relics! Start doing things for other people.  You used to like baking - bake something for someone who is hurting or who is lonely, etc.  Go visit someone at a nursing home or read a book to them.  Volunteer at a local hospital.  Go back to church or start attending a solid, Bible believing church.  If the church people tell you the depression is your fault, find another one.  Depression is real.  You also should talk with your parents or a trusted adult to help you with this.  If it is clinical depression, you should have your parents find a good psychiatrist who can help you find medication to ease these feelings.  Finding a solid, professional counselor can also help.  Counselors often have ways of helping us see things from a different perspective and to find solutions that we were at first blinded to.  Hope some of this helps.

  7. You need a break from things. Like take a vacation away from home. Go swimming, walking, enjoying nature.

    Even if you cannot go on a vacation, you can take weekends into nature. Commute with nature. Sit under trees. Walk barefoot on grass and sand. things like that.

    You may just take a mat and lie down and stare at the sky or stars at night. Anything out in fresh air.

    As for a Hobby, try dancing. Any type. Dancing is good for  emotional catharsis.
