  1. PINEAPPLE GLAZED GRILLED PORK CHOPS

    (OR CHICKEN)

8 medium sized pork chops about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick

1 can pineapple rings, drained (reserve juice)

1 1/2 tbsp. dark brown sugar

    1/4 cup prepared mustard

    2 tbsp. lemon juice

    2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water

enough water to bring reserved juice to one cup

Drain pineapple and reserve juice. Salt and pepper pork chops to taste.

In a small sauce pan combine pineapple juice, water, brown sugar and mustard and bring to a light boil. Reduce heat and stir in lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and cornstarch mixture. Simmer for 3 minutes until thick, stirring constantly.

Brush sauce on pork chops (or chicken b*****s if desired) and place on a prepared grill. Brown pork chops for 2 minutes on each side, brush on more sauce and top with pineapple rings. Cook for two or three more minutes and turn so pineapple rings are on the grill surface and get the nice grill marks and cook for two or three more minutes. Flip once more baste with sauce, check doneness of pork chops or chicken, if done allow to rest for five minutes and serve

  2. Get Pork & Chop It Up :)

  3. We used to raise pigs so ate a lot of pork over the years.

One of our favorite ways to make pork chops is to coat in a shake & bake seasoning ( Safeway store brand works well )

Bake according to package.... but 10 min before done add 2 Tlbs  spoons salsa & shredded cheddar cheese on top each chop & continue baking.

I like mango peach salsa but do try other kinds & experiment with cheese also !

I also like to make them stuffed ( slice & add stove top ) bake with cream of mushroom soup over the top ( so easy & so good ! )

Add a salad and potatoes and there is dinner

  4. I like to grill them plain, then top with a jar of cherry jam ( no sugar added) with some chopped onion and cracked black pepper; mixed together and warmed.  Yummy. Easy.

  5. When it's done cooking I have poured a can of mushroom soup on and maybe some fresh fried ones to top it off. This is best in the oven of course.

  6. STUFFED PORK CHOPS

Get extra thick pork chops and cut a pocket in the sides.  Make some Stovetop stuffing per the package, and stuff the chops.  Put a thin layer of Lawry's marinade (I like Baja Chipolte, Mesquite or Hickory) in the bottom of a pan and the chops on top; a little more marinade over the top.  Cover with foil and bake at 375 about 45 min;  uncover and bake another 15 min or so .......  You can also stuff them with feta cheese & chopped frozen spinach; and use Greek Salad dressing

  7. Salt and pepper them.  Lay a thin slice of onion on top, then a couple slices of lemon, then top w/ a squirt or two of ketchup or Heinz 57 sauce.  Bake in 350ºF oven for about an hour, cover w/ foil the first 40 min. or so.  Mmmm.

  9. Well, this one isn't grilled or baked, but it is yummy!  I got this recipe out of a magazine ad back in the 70's and it is a favorite at my house.  Plus, it is an all-in-one pot recipe so less mess to clean up.  I hope you'll try it & enjoy it too!

Shown below is the pork chop recipe as it appeared in Hunt's Tomato Sauce ad in he early '70's.

Note that it makes a good deal of rice and can easily make 6 servings if you add a couple of chops (as I do).

Also, the original recipe called for canned peas but I use frozen peas 10 ounces (or more).

    SKILLET CHOPS & RICE

4 Large Chops (pork, lamb or veal), 1/2 inch thick

Salt, Pepper (I use seasoned salt here)

    1 Medium Onion, chopped

    1/2 Cup sliced celery

2 Tablespoons Wesson (or other vegetable oil)

    2 Tablespoons sugar

    1-1/2 Teaspoons salt

    1 Teaspoon dry mustard

    2 (8 oz.) Cans Hunt's Tomato Sauce

    1 Cup long grain rice

1 (10 oz or +) Package frozen peas, thawed

Sprinkle chops with salt & pepper; brown both sides in hot oil in large skillet. Remove chops.

In same skillet, saute onion & celery until golden. Add water, sugar, seasonings and 1 can tomato sauce; bring to a boil.

Stir in rice, place chops in rice mixture; cover tightly and simmer 30 minutes or until chops are almost done.

Add peas and pour on remaining can of tomato sauce. Replace cover and cook 15 minutes longer.

Serves 4 (or 6 if you do it my way)

  10. I love thick pork chops but i never feel like they are fully cooked so I have changed it up a little very simple recipe.

mix egg, milk, salt, pepper, little sugar.

Dip in italian bread crumbs with added extra Italian seasoning.

repeat 2x's to help the bread crumbs stick.

Brown on a skillet sprayed with pam.

then put in the oven for 20 min 10 on each side.

    serve with grilled onions.
