I need a Property Manager MENTOR, to help me start, build, and run my new company, anybody knows a mentor?

I am in TX. I want the mentor to help me with the basic of how to start, and run a management company. I am getting my real estate license. I judt dont know that step by step process to build a management company. I have started other busines, but I need a Mentor for this one. thanks

  1. You are getting your brokers license?   It is the one you need, not the sales one.    You should have gotten a pretty good idea while you were working sales.    Why not ask your present broker for advice?    He started his/her company at some point and already knows your strengths, they are better equipped to help you then anyone online.


  2. You are not thinking this thru.

    You need to think about "what is in it for the mentor".

    If you go to work for a property management company that you admire you will see first hand how it works.  If you find someone there that will teach you a lot about the business, that is a mentor.

    They are generally hoping that you stay with them.  If it is an older person that owns the company they may hope that you buy the company from them someday.

    In a very general way you could join a Rotary Club and meet Lawyers, CPA's and small business people and others that could answer questions for you and be a big help.

    But if you are looking to hire a mentor- I think you will often get scammed.

  3. Go to SBA, they have many mentors for those starting new businesses
