  18. some of my favorites: Wesley, Elijah, Reed, Cael (sounds like Kale), Patrick, Kieran, Leo, Tristan (though it's getting pretty popular), Samuel, and Ethan.

Hubby and I are going through the same thing, only with girls names.  Best of luck to you, and congrats!!

  19. I'll give you a few of my favorites and explain why:

Julius -- It means "downy-bearded," which is taken to signify youth.  I love the fact that it's historical and significantly less popular than Julian.  The -s ending sounds both classic and current.

Miles -- It may mean either "soldier" or "gracious" or it may be a form of Michael, meaning "Who is like God?"  The name sounds so strong, manly, and British, but it's an important name from American history as well.  Miles Standish was a British military officer who assisted the Pilgrims in Plymouth.

Kenneth -- It means "handsome."  I've met quite a few Kenneths or Kennys who have been wonderful people, so I think that's what first turned me onto this name.  I like that it's familiar but not common at all right now.

Frederick -- It means "peaceful ruler."  I fell in love with it because it's the name of the love interest in a Jane Austen novel.  Captain Frederick Wentworth -- doesn't that sound dashing?  It's certainly a very regal name, used by many European kings.

Jude or Judah -- It means "praised."  I like underused biblical boys' names that work well in a modern context.  Matthew bores me, and I find Nehemiah a bit too unusual, but Jude or Judah seem to fit the bill.

Gideon -- It means "feller (of trees) or hewer."  Gideon was a famous biblical warrior who defeated thousands of Midianites with only 300 men.  I love names that are attached to strong role models or have an important place in history.

Hadrian -- It means "from Hadria."  This was the name of a Roman emperor who commanded a wall to be built across England.  I visited the ruins of Hadrian's Wall on my last trip to England; it's on a beautiful, wild, rainy, windswept landscape.  The more modern variation of the name, Adrian, is rather popular today, but I'm in love with the original.

Good luck choosing name!  It can be hard to fall in love with a name just out of a baby book.  Most of the names I love I have some personal experience with; I think that's what makes me love them so much.  If you feel completely stuck, you and your husband might try listing out names of characters from books and movies that you've liked, thinking of names of old friends you admire, looking up names popular in foreign countries you've visited together, or brainstorming a list of historical people you think would be good role models.  That may give you some inspiration and make a name stand out to you that would otherwise just fade into the pages of a baby book.

Best wishes, and I hope this helps!

  20. My son's name is Nathan - meaning "gift of god".

I'm pregnant with my 2nd boy and debating on his name.

    I like the names

    Jonah - means "dove"

    Noah- means peaceful

    Jonas - also means "dove"

Gabriel - means God is my Strength

Wesley - means from the West field?

Jonathan - also means "gift of god"

I like the names Reagan and Riley also-- those seem to be Unisex names.

We may not have the same taste, but these are my favorites!

    Congrats :)

  21. Dominic
