  1. why you want a babysitter job there's lots of other jobs out there, or go back to school and get a profesional degree

  2. Call the library near you & see if they know where you can take babysitting classes. The red cross might give them. This way you can be sure people will prefer you & you will feel better about babysitting. Then see if your neighborhood has some kind of community newsletter you can put your name in. Or you can go to houses you see have little ones & give them your name & number. You can make a flyer or just write your info. w/ name number & the word babysitting on it & give it to neighbors. Even if they don't have kids they might know people who do.See if there are bullentin boards where you can post your name but never go to someones house without your parents knowing where you are going. They should go with you the first time or talk to the people & be involved until you get to know the people. Become a bike rider, walker or even a dog walker to get to know your neighbors for safety reasons. You might also get some jobs water plants & caring for pets & taking in the mail for people who are on vacation.

  3. Idk I am in the same situation and you really should not post this on the internet you might get predators.

  4. You can ask your mom to sign up for www.meetup.com and then you can go to a meeting where mothers meet with young children.  You can meet babies at a church if you are a church goer.  You can meet mom's at McDonald's play place.  You can run an ad in the paper or on www.craigslist.com for free.  You can put a sign in your yard.  You can take babysitting classes and CPR.  The choices are endless.

  5. Let's see... Before posting anything about yourself I would check to make sure your parents (if you're younger than 18) will be able to go with you to meet the prospective parents that way you'll be safe if there were a problem that arises.  (I don't want to make you uneasy but it's a crazy world out there.)

Next I would post on Craigslist.com for your nearest city/town under 'childcare' and browse the listings to see if there is anyone posting that they need someone as a sitter/nanny.

Other than that posting an ad at your local grocery store (or wherever there are community bulletin boards) and asking baby or kids stores if you can leave fliers on their checkout counters would be great.  Also - ask friends or parents or neighbors if they know of anyone with kids who need help during the summer or need a night out.

  6. Hi! You can always put an ad in the local paper. Just make sure to list your experience, and availability. Also, that you are certified through like red cross, i think it's like 12 bucks to do. Then you can always go to like the laundry mat and hang a flyer with the sideways numbers people can tear off. Hang one up at your local gas station, the library, or any public place a lot of adults hang out. I hope this helps you a little. Good Luck :)

  7. I went door to door to find babysitting jobs. Other times I got babysitting jobs from recommendations or referrals from friends, parents' friends, and other families that I babysat for. I found one job in the newspaper classifieds. You might be able to put up a flyer at the library or supermarket (grocery store). You might be able to find babysitting jobs from Church. Just get out and meet as many people as you can.

Once I became a camp counselor, I got jobs from some of the campers because they liked me. They would ask their parents. I became a babysitter for 2 of my campers because they didn't live too far from me. I had other opportunities but declined because of the travel. It's not that I didn't want to do it. It just would have been too far for me. I didn't live that close to camp. My grandparents did but I didn't want to "live" there.

Good luck. Once you make the initial effort then you should get lots of jobs.
