"He who fights monsters should see to it that in doing so he does not become one himself."

I'm 16 i have a facebook, and i want to upload this idea into my favorite quotes, but it seems a bit weird to others (monsters) so i need a better way to phrase this a while still maintaining its core idea.

  1. Look in the mirror to make shore who you are fighting

  2. Don't be a hypocrite lol jk

He who fights evil, should not become evil himself.

    Good luck!~

  3. A person who fights monsters should make sure that he himself doesn't become one.

  4. I believe that the full quote from Friedrich Nietzsche reads as follows:

"[Whoever]He who fights monsters should see to it that in the process he doesn't become a monster. And when you look long into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you."

I know that you want to change it, but I believe that you should let Nietzsche's words speak for themselves.  He was the quintessential cynic, yet his words may be interpreted in other ways: Is it not true that if you countenance evil you become its abettor?  Stated somewhat differently, in a fight against terrorism, is it not wise to pay particular attention to human rights?

Let your friends wrestle with what they find a "bit weird."
