I need a cell phone that's going to work in most major cities throughout the world?

Anyone know how i can go about buying a cell that works basically everywhere.....china, europe, and the USA specifically.

i think all cell phones work anywhere. you need to get a plan and it will be pretty expensive. go talk to a cell phone person.

You need a quad band phone this will work anywhere in the world. A Triband phone will work in most places but not all, a lot of the new phones are Triband. What I have is a quadband mobile that is unlocked so I just get a sim card when I arrive in a country and put in the phone, it is the cheapest, some countries give the sim for free. I have sim cards from Ireland Thailand Spain France Denmark America Gibraltar and they all work in my unlocked quadband phone. Look on ebay for an unlocked quadband mobile you will get one cheap.

I recommend checking out this site.  You can purchase a relatively inexpensive phone (around $50) and buy SIM cards for the individual country you're in.  You could also rent a phone from them.

It works in 170 countries; unfortunately, the US isn't one of them.  The advantage is if you happen to lose the phone, it's not a huge financial/data loss.

Otherwise, just get a GSM phone and check out their international rate plans.
