Airline tickets usually are not cheap in July since that is when a lot of people fly.  Try the different travel websites such as Orbitz and Expedia.  Then book your ticket with the airlines since they may run a special that is not listed under the travel websites.  You can also look into vacation packages.  Sometimes with the bundling, you save money.  You can just not show up to the hotel that was booked.
