I had this same problem for a friends bachelor party last year. Here's what I did.

Don't look through the yellow pages. Those are all professional companies. Look through your neighborhood. That guy with the limo parked in the driveway? Chances are, he's an independent limo driver. Just knock on his door or leave a note.

But since time is of the essence, you may have to call a professional company. So here's the work around to that.

Call them and tell them you'll need a limo to take you to where ever you're going, but tell them you do not want them waiting around while you're at that location. Meaning, if your taking a limo to a strip club and are going to be there a few hours, it's senseless to have a limo sitting outside for nothing. Basically you'll get charged for time or distance to where ever you're going, and thats it. The downfall of this that you almost have a tight schedule and need to have everything planned out.  AND don't forget to ask the company if it would be okay to call when you are ready to picked up. Most professional limo places will allow you to do that, but you might be waiting 30 minutes longer.

If you do it like this, you'll save around 400 bucks.
