I try to keep the house clean all the time but I feel that there is no routine. I work all week so try to do a bit each day.

What sort of routine do you have?

  1. There's only 2 of us so we're relatively tidy most of the time. We get up at 5.30am, Monday to Friday, coffee, shower, hubby off to work at 6.30am, I wash up cups, cats dishes and make lunch, I leave for work at 7.45am. Get home at 5.30pm, hubby's started dinner. Eat dinner, wash up, put feet up whilst surfing Yahoo Answers, watching TV or reading newspaper. Go to bed at 9pm. (Except Friday & Saturday night, then it's probably midnight). Saturday, get up at 6.30/7am, coffee, shower, out for weekly shop by 8.30am. Back home by 9.15am, shopping away, I vacuum, dust and clean bathroom and kitchen, put in laundry load, hubby tends to pond filters and mowing the lawn and we're ready for father in law's weekly visit by 10.30am. Sunday, usually around 5pm, I do all the ironing dried on Saturday, put it all away and it's feet up til bedtime once more.

    You've got to have routine - makes life simple and you will always have some 'me' time to do something you WANT to do rather tha something you HAVE to do.

  2. I like to have a few on going projects, like laundry, and dishes. Between loads I will commit to one room at a time. The real trick is to not leave that room. If you need to put back something into another room- don't!! Put it out side of the door of the room that you are working on. This way you are not losing focus, your not half doing the rooms and you get alot more acclompished.

  3. I have a small apartment so it is relatively easy. Here are some general suggestions; Dust weekly, all wood and shelved items;

    Clean furniture glass every 2 weeks. Vaccum every other day, sweep hard floors, mop 1 time a week for lin, or tile. Keep entryways blown or swept daily, majority of dirt comes in here.

    Clean the bathroom thoroughly weekly. You can use the lysol or clorox wipes daily to clean up daily mess.

    Linens and laundry are another entire story.

    Hope this helps.

  4. start with the room you hate the most... bathroom or kitchen.  get those clean and then go to the next least liked room, etc..etc..  before you know it you house is cleaned.

    I hate to mop, so I try to clean the kitchen , then mop next hit the bathroom and mop it.    I feel so happy when those rooms are finished it make me want to do the rest of the hous.

  5. I don't have a routine for cleaning the house, but I do have one for the laundry. Monday: White clothes......Tuesday: Light-colored clothes......Wednesday: Dark/ Bright clothes......Thursday: Towels/ sheets/ blankets......Friday: Jeans......Saturday: Coats/ jackets (this is a free day in the summer). This helps me to keep from having a pile of clothes to fold. I also keep my sanity.
