I need a computer Doctor?

Question

my laptop has been shutting down constantly, its extremely hot and super slow..i been paying for high speed internet (well logging into one)

Its a IBM thinkPad not sure what year its old..its all i have.

so Doc what is your diagnosis?

is my laptop coming to an end? or is there something i could do to say it?

she's all i have when I'm relaxing at home :(

I would suggest you reformat the hard drive, you may have too much information/programs on it.

If you don't want reformat, dump all the programs you don't want or need this hopefully will speed things up. BUT KEEP THE LAPTOP COOL.

also to keep the laptop cool, raise it off the table (rest it on some books) so air can circulate underneath the laptop.

You can buy laptop coolers from computer shops.

Have the LCD screen check, its probably damage, it could be cause by putting something on top of the laptop while its close, if your ask to replace the lcd screen just go and buy a new laptop.

As for the temperature problem< i would also have the Fans check, it shouldn't be expensive to replace them,

The white line you see is most likely a dead pixel. A new lcd screen will be your only choice, but instead buy a new laptop. THe screen cost as much as a new laptop. Its extremly hot because its not sufficiently circulating the air. Its probably clogged by dust debris. IBM ThinkPAd is a very old model and you should upgrade tot he modern laptops. Yes, your laptop is coming to an end! If your data is important, buy an external hard drive at futureshop or bestbuy and transfer it. When you get your new laptop, transfer the external hard drive to your laptop! Good Luck!

EDIT: GEt a new laptop! You can get a good decent one for 500, or get a used one if you have finical problems. Your computer is worth about 50$. No one will buy it///

Well Girlie, sounds like you have a few viruses and mal-ware that infected your computer.  When they run it slows everything else down.  I'd run an anti-virus program like Norten.  Or get a new computer, darn!  

And get a Mac next time!  Less viruses woo hoo!

Lol Laptop Lol!

I do desktops lol. Much more powerful and you can swap out parts.

I built mine and love it. And I made it energy efficient.

I built a pc what you would pay like almost 1000 dell for barely 300 lol.

I am sorry but a funeral is coming soon lulu.

You may have to go out to the back of the barn and get that shotgun.

Depends on how new your pc is todays mobos control the fan and in return cools off your pc. Laptops do get hot due to lack or space.
