I need a computer desk less than 3'(36") wide, as tall as possible. Please help

I am renting a small room to save up money, and I have 3 feet of width to fill up with a computer desk. The height and depth doesn't matter, it's just I can't cover up the only vent to the room, which is 3 feet from the wall. The length on the other side of the vent is covered with my dresser. Anyone have any suggestions? The taller, the better, space is limited.

go to IKEA.com and they sell furniture pieces separately so you can build your own. for example, you pick out the desk top that you want to start with, and then which legs you want, etc. they give measurements for all of their items so this should be an easy task to put something affordable together that you will like.

Saw something similar to that at either Lowes or Home Depot.  The kind you put together, yourself.
