  1. g*y marriage

    soil conservation (the green movement)

  2. Atomic bombs is a good one.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki or what ever their names are.

Fat Man and Little Boy? I dont remember the names.

  3. Any argument surrounding industry can have a counter-argument.  Such as power plants - we need them to supply electricity to the world, but they're destroying the world at the same time.

I think 'should we have created a-bombs' is good, but its an argument had a million times before.  (I, for one, say it was one of the greatest achievements of mankind.)  How about "what do we do with nuclear waste"?

  4. stem cell research?

  5. You could talk about the new less-than-lethal weapons they are making for the military.  For instance, there is one "ray gun" that shoots some kind of electromagnetic waves at people.  The weapon makes the skin of the person facing the beam get very hot, very quick.  I don't know how you could take a position against it, because I think it is a great idea, but it's just an example.

  6. How about this - If an asteroid or commet were about to strike the earth should we try to avert the disaster if we could?    Many people think that we should go the way of the dinosaurs especially since we have had such a negative impact on the planet.

  7. Have aliens from another planet been here on Earth?
