  1. Grampa got about a gallon per bushel from corn liqueur, but I cheat and add sugar so I can reuse my corn up to three times before I feed it to the hogs.

  2. I have the facts for you, see link.  When I get home I will send you the facts.  1 bushel of corn makes 2.66 gallons of ethanol.  When I get home it contains moister count and everything possible.  Awesome info.  It states it takes 1.29 units of energy to make 1 unit of ethanol energy.  Can try and find this.  Found it.  Type in Patzek in yahoo search.

Did you know it takes 1,700 gallons of water to make 1 gallon of ethanol.

  3. They say you can get 3 gallons of ethanol from a bushel of corn but this is not the whole story. Some corn is better or worse at this conversion and it takes vert good equipment to get that result. And then it does require a lot of energy to drive the process. Don't forget the cost increases for basic food stuff because the food is being diverted from the table of poor people who deserve some consideration-don't you think?

  4. why do you want 95% all the cars i have seen that can burn this stuff are only rated at 85%

  5. Bigger question, how much GASOLINE and Petrochemicals go into the making of one gallon of Corn Ethanol?

One gallon of petro chemicals is used to produce one gallon of corn ethanol!

Now, in South America, they use sugar cane, and burn the husks to power the distilleries!
