I am going camping with the boy scouts. We are sleeping under tarps. I have a screen but I need a creative, yet simple way to attach the screen to the tarp. Thank you

  1. You're a Boy Scout, use duct tape! Otherwise, consider fabric glue. That stuff will stick about anything together. If that's not your style, go to Lowes and get a cart full of the multicolored plastic clamps.

  2. get some spring clips.... could be like office paperclip, hardare store clamping clips, or clothspin sring clips  fold the two together and clip every 2 to 3 feet

  3. Bungee cords

  4. Duct tape...not real attractive but works

  5. If it's just a big chunk of material and you want to have it hanging over your heads and draped over your bags and maybe tucked under your pads you could tie a center ridge line inside the tarp from end to end and hang the net  from that at one point in a kind of cone shape, then tuck the bottom under your pad so it stays off your face.

  6. I don't think the screen will do you much good unless you can seal it completely. That's why tents and screenhouses have zippers. Bugs can still get in from the ground.

If I were you, I would cut the screen material about 7' long and about 4' wide. Then I would sew the thing together like a sleeping bag. Stich a drawstring into the top so you can draw it closed from the inside. It might work better than trying to rig up the screen in the tarp. It takes a bit more work, but you could probably stitch it together in an hour or so.

I've never tried this myself, but it came to me while I was thinking about your problem. Good Luck.

  7. find someone with a heavy duty sewing machine

  8. use stick on velcross,

  9. Here are a couple of ideas.

    1) sew together with duct tape.  Place ends or sides together, Fold duct tape so that the same amount is on both sides, then sew with heavy coat thread with a thin machine needle.

    2) but ends together and then fold over twice in a fan fold effect then sew together with heavy thread.

    Good luck
