I'm needing an icon for my photography business. The name is Christen McMakin Photography and I can't decide if I want something in the icon with a camera/lens or just a fancy readable type to the name. I'm lost and everything on the internet looks so generic. Any ideas?

  1. Do you want to add colors? You would need to keep in mind what you are going to be branding. Is it just a web page logo? or will it go on business cards, paper, envelops, mugs even? You will want to make sure the logo is not too detailed if you are going to be putting it on smaller objects. Also with colors, you will need to think how much that would be extra to print or not. Maybe black and white for print and color for web? Only saying because you had mentioned putting writing on a lens, and I was thinking if that goes on letter head or a envelope it would be hard to read. What about a logo on top of your name?

is this something you are doing yourself? or are you looking at going to someone to have this done for you?

Where are you looking to put this logo?

Would you like to see this logo grow to be added onto things like mugs and pens and such?

I always like purple and black and white, but then you always have to make sure you pick the correct purple to go with the black, because the purple doesn't always end up printed the same color you see on  your screen. This is due to the fact that the color blue is one of the hardest colors to print the correct shade... Which blue being a main color in purple.

I know garble garble... But all kinds of stuff you should really think about when it comes to logo's and branding.

Maybe I can offer some more help some how... I'm always interested in branding ideas.
