My roommate and I are moving into a condo with 2 bedrooms, one is the master and is 12 x 15 and the other is 10 x 12. Both of us have cars and we only have 1 parking spot, so one of us will have to park on the street and probably buy a permit from the city. We are planning on splitting the rent in half so we both pay the same price since neither of us wants to pay more, so it is hard for us to decide which bedrooms we should take in a fair way. I would like to take the master bedroom, but is there a way that I can make this fair since we will both be paying the same amount in rent? Any suggestions will do!

  1. Whoever takes the master bedroom parks on the street.

that way the person in the smaller room feel compensated for having to take the smaller room.

    I would agree to it!

  2. I'd say whomever gets the master bedroom gets to park in the spot only 1 week a month.  The person with the smaller bedroom gets to park in the spot 3 weeks a month.  That way if you split it all in half, it's still pretty fair.

  3. Well ..you do have a problem .....

How about offering the roommate the parking space in exchange for you taking the Master Bedroom ...

If you roomie is not up for that , then the best thing to do is to put #'s on pieces of paper from 1 to 10 .... and put the #'s in a basket ect ...

Then you both decide on ONE number ..You both draw from the #'s in the basket and the one with the # closest to the one you both picked gets the master bedroom ...

    Enjoy your new apartment .
