I need a fish game for a group of 35 between the ages of 2-5. Help?

This is a library storytime, and these kids are already out on a field trip, and we have extremely limited resources. Ideally, the game would be about 5 minutes in length and include all the kids. Thanks!

James has a good idea...my concern is that a two-year-old's attention span might not last- how many ''helpers'' do you have?  You may need to divide up the group.

To better Cathy R's idea put paper clips on the fish for t kids to use as the metal to attract te magnet. We did this at my grandmas as kids. She would set the fish out and we had to find ones with a certain number or color on them.

1.Instead of duck-duck-goose.  Make it cod-cod-goldfish.

2. Instead of fruit basket, make it fish basket.

1. Children are seated in a circle.  One child walks on the outside of the circle, touches each child in turn saying cod, cod when the child says goldfish - the child runs and the other child has to catch up with him before he returns to the gap in circle.

2.  Children are seated in a circle.  You go round and each child is either a skate, plaice or goldfish (for example).  All are seated except for one child in the middle.  That child says skate, all 'skates' must change their seat meanwhile the child in the middle will try to get a seat - there is always one child in the middle.  If the child says fish basket, everyone must change seat.....

You could have 35  or more "cards" and each of the kids could "fish" for one (or more depending on how many "cards" you have) the child who "catches" the card with a fish on it could win a small treat... the other cards could have different pictures of things you would find in a lake like seaweed and lily pads and such... You could then play as many rounds as time permits. I suggest making the cards out of note cards cut in half.

Just play the game like British Bulldog.  They line up at one end.  You are in the middle - a shark  You have a little saying  like: Fishy fishy come to me I am a shark and I'm hungry.  Each one you catch becomes a shark too.  Last fishy is the winner.  Have fun.

Take  small dowels or sticks (about 2 feet long) and tie  strings to them (also about 2 feet long).

Tie a magnet to the other end of each string.

Have all your neighbors and friends collect the (metal only)ends of frozen juice cans. These are perfect because they have really smooth edges. Or if you know someone with one of those "As Seen on TV" can openers, you could use any can lid! :)

Decorate the metal discs with fish stickers or cutouts of fish.

Have the a relay: kids take turns "fishing" to see how many they can put in the bucket.
