By beachcaster I am assuming you want a rod for surf fishing.  There are plenty cheap surf rods at Wal-mart or Super Ks near the coast.  As for which rod, that is hard to say without knowing what you are wanting to fish for.  Surf casting for pompano or whiting is very different from surf casting for bull reds and striped bass and the rods required are totally different.
