Anyway... yes I had the same problem as you and basically, what you do is go up to Copper and say I wanna go out and press nintendo wfc and it should start making that sound and that purple round arrow on the bottom right hand corner of your screen and the red thing on the bottom left hand side of your screen, (that should be green once connected), and Copper should say you can't connect or something like that and you have an option saying 'Try again' or something like that or 'I'll change it' or something like that, well click I'll change it and you should come to something where they track your interent and all you have to do is enter the network key. It will take a sec, and then you can get your friend code.

I've answered this one before.To get your friend code,you must connect to wi-fi at a compatible access point.When you know there is a compatible access point,go to other things instead of going to continue.Wi-fi settings and go to connection one.Tap search for an access point and if you find one with a blue lock,go to that one and follow what it says.When you start your game after those things,then go to your town gate and go to Copper,the dog on the right.Tell him Friend code and he will connect you to wi-fi.He will then give you your code and to view your code,go to the tab with the heart and you can see your friend code.The best way to find an access point would be to get your hands on a wireless router which I think you can get at Wal-mart.Make sure the router can pick up DS signals.
