If you were in school, what would you want to buy in class from another student to help them raise money. We are trying to think of different ways to raise money since we are competeing with other clubs. This is a high school drama club, and we really need the money with all the budget cuts in our school so that we can still go to distracts and put on our shows.

  1. Everyone likes a raffle. If you were to raffle off an ipod or something like that which would have interest to all students or gift cards...a basket full of stuff. Students would buy a ticket and the extra after paying for the item raffled would go toward your club. That and during the year you could do it at school functions geared toward parents. Over Christmas or Thanksgiving...raffle off a prime rib or turkey basket. Other items that are good at school is food/treats or carnations/roses at valentines that you will deliver to the person of thier choice with a note if they prefer. Come up with a school logo product that everyone would like to purchase. There are many things and if you go to all of the bussiness and tell them what you are doing you can generally get stuff donated too. If you got enough donated you could do very well. I know restaurants will donate gift cards, hardware stores will donate things..you name it they love to help with things like that because it is promotional for them too. Also, if you look on the calendar for the different week celebrations like American Heart Association I believe is in October you could raffle off tickets for a basket filled with first aid stuff and online you can purchase a box kit to learn CPR...and sell first aid kits. Make it a them all year long. During events you could also rent a cotton candy machine and sell cotton candy..you can rent dunking booths and make good money off of that too if you get people in there that everyone loves to dunk. Another thing that I had set up before is a Mcdonalds night for out EMS group and called it McEMS night. You could do something in that relation. What we did that night is advertised it so everyone would come, we had our group work for them (with their workers) for apx 4 hours in the evening and the group got a free meal that worked in addition to the proceeds donated that were made for that 4 hours. Our selling x mas trees/wreaths at christmas, clean windows and yards in the community...tons of stuff. For product ideas though you could look up www.fundraiser.com or just google fundraiser and you can find several little things. But definately reach out into the community they love to help esp. if it is school organizations.

  2. I say, go for a candy fundraiser.  M&M's, Snickers, and other like candies should offer fundraisers if you go to their websites.   Also, you can put on a really popular play and charge for admission.  You can also offer light refreshments at this event...to make even more money.   You all could do a car wash...a bake sale....the possibilities are endless!!

Hope this helps.  Good luck to you and your drama club!!!!

  3. Hey ! We had to raise some money for youth camp with our church and we tried going to walmart and taking donations and also had about 4 bake sales and got $ 1150.00 I'd try

    walmart.

  4. Well when I was in high school, my school wasn't very big so I didn't worry to much about competition with fund raisers. I guess what worked well for us was using the holidays. Like for halloween we would sell lollipops for $1.00 and the kids would send them to someone and then we'd deliver them during the classes. A lot of schools do that and the flowers for Valentine's day. But I'm sure you want to get this going before then.

How about a carnival. Like on a Friday or Saturday night...I mean it doesn't have to be big. We also did dances with themes. Usually we only had formals so it was nice to have a $5.00 a ticket dance that was just as fun. How about a roaring 20's themed one?

    Those were my favorites.

  5. You could do carwashes, those are really fun and they raise lots of money. You could charge 5 to 10 dollars per car. Also, you could sell bagels at school before big tests, but that might not be so helpful if there are no big tests coming up. You could sell pizza and candy after school, or have a raffle or a telethon or a walkathon or anything really, but i reccomend carwashes.
