Sounds like an old Chinese proverb...

A stone cutter wanted to better himself. One day he saw a wealthy man being carried along, lots of staff etc. & thought that would be nice.

Soon he finds himself as the wealthy man... all is good

Until a storm comes along & the wind destroys everything he has... Umm he thinks, this wind is even more powerful than me, I would like to be the wind.

Soon enough he becomes the wind... blows across the country causing havoc - well happy blah, blah, blah - until he comes across something he can't blow over - a mountain!

Guess what happens next...

He ends up becoming the mountain, thinking he's the most powerful thing in the world, when he hears chipping noises way below... looks down & sees a stone cutter
