I have two main characters who are in the same family named Kent and John but I'm not sure what their last name should be.

  1. try something average but not too normal.

Lally, Lawrence, Jefferson, etc. you've heard it so it doesnt destract from the story.

  2. Walls, Gordon, Durman

  3. Stenning

  4. depends where they are from, but it is always easy and fun to open an atlas and use a city name for a last name

  5. Determine their ethnic origin then google geneology records and pick one that appeals to you.

    Or, you could use Collins.

  6. Galvin, Gavin, Cullen

  7. Try Kristeva.  Like the critic/philosopher Julia Kristeva.  I've just always liked the name, and it's obscure enough to sound unfamiliar but real.

  8. Wentworth

  9. Idk, I am writing a book too and I used Portman only cause I like that last name. What about Mencin? I think Mencin is a good last name, especially to match those names. Trust me, I know names. :)

  10. Julin, Forter, Clarkson. But don't use Cullen. It's been done...

    Good luck :D

  11. Armstrong

  12. As long as it's 2 or 3 syllables anything would work.

Stay away from famous names as they tend to distract from the story.

  13. Hmmm, what's the book about?  What are their circumstances (like finances, location, etc.)?

    Grayson

    Levin

    Forrester

    Benjamin

  14. mundy
