I need a good night vision video recorder/camcorder?

ok im on a budget of prolly 200 or possibly squeezed to 300 dollars and i need a camcorder that has either night vision or IR im going on a retreat and im gonna scare ppl and record them so you can maybe have a lil more info. . .

I also want a guilly suit (sorry for spelling) you know the ones that snipers where and i want a thermal monocular

so if anyone knows of at least the night/IR vision camcorder then it would be much appreciated

  1. You may be able to get both high quality Nightshot (IR illuminator) and flash memory in the same camcorder for less than $300.  Just get the best camcorder you can under $300 with Nightshot capability - preferably with CCD image sensors.  Most of your options will be Sony.

    Aiptek and similar companies might have a model that has both some kind of light intensification system and records to flash memory cards, but the night vision system will probably not provide you with a sharp enough image.

    These type of cameras have small batteries with a limited charge.  The battery is not able to power both the IR illuminator and the camera, so the light amplification is done electronically by opening the exposure of the image sensor.  This causes the image to be updated more slowly so it lets in more light between updates.  this also causes less accuracy in quality and can get to the point that the video can look like a low quality web cam video.
