  1. asics are really good running shoes.

there is 3 types of shoe.

cushioning, structured cushioning, and maximun support.

it has to do with the arch of your foot.

if you go to a running store they can help you find the best shoe for you.

otherwise at asics.com they have a guide. go to:

    http://www.asicsamerica.com/sports/runni...

    asics cost between $90-$120.

but you get what you pay for.

its hard to find nice cheap shoes.

i do not recomend nike or puma, they are more for looks.

if you run a ton a really think it would be worth it for you to spend the extra money being they will last the extra miles.

hope it helps =) good luck!

  2. Nike Is great!!!

  3. Honestly, I would stay away from Nike's, Puma or most HUGE name brands.

I use Mizuno. My boyfriend wears New Balance. I've heard great things about Brooks.

I have never known anyone serious(adult competitive shorter distance or marathon runner) about running to say good things about Nike.

However, go to a running store. Not a Nike or any regular shoe store. They will watch you run, look at your feet and help you decide what is the best shoe for you, no matter what brand it is. Don't shop by brand.

  4. Nike is the best brand of shoe you can buy

  5. I love the look of the Nike shoes, but I've been using New Balance lately, and I've been very happy with them.  They're usually a little cheaper than Nike too.

  6. Go to a running shop such as road runner sports or fleet feet. They have a treadmill where they measure how you run and then recommend a shoe for you. It is free so you have nothing to lose.

  7. The type of shoe that will work best is different for every person.  If you go to a shoe store they can tell you which shoe brand will work best for your type of foot. It will also help them figure it out better if you bring in a pair of your old running shoes so they can see in which parts your foot has worn the shoe out.

  8. froggypjs is right. There is no "best brand" and you shouldn't shop for running shoes based on brand, unless you know for a fact that a particular brand is good for YOUR feet. (You also should never buy running shoes based on color either, unless you're not using them to run in, of course.)

If you don't know exactly what you're looking for, best bet is to go to a good running store (not a department store or discount warehouse) where the salesperson will actually watch how you walk/run and recommend the right type of shoe for you. You can also do some research on the internet to find out what type of shoe you need: here's good place on the runner's world website to start. http://www.runnersworld.com/cda/whichsho...

  9. My husband loves New Balance for running and so do a lot of other guys who run alot. Here is a link to a few on sale, but I think NB will last the longest. My Nikes are great, but they wear out pretty fast if you put in the miles.
