Question:

I need a good push up strapless bra...can anyone help?

I had my first fitting today. The alterations lady said I needed a push up bra to smooth out some wrinkles. I need something nude colored, but something that doesn't go too far down since I already have a corset that isn't working because you can see it.

Help!

  1. For formal occasions I really like the Nubra.  Its an adhesive bra that is backless and strapless, and you can reuse it at least 100 times.  They're expensive in stores, but you can get one really cheap (around $20) on ebay.  I wore mine to the Marine Birthday Ball last year and it stayed on with no problems the entire night.  I could barely feel it in fact.  I got mine without padding, but there are several different styles with various amounts of padding.  Also, depending on how you position them, they can give you various amounts of lift.

  2. victorias secret very s**y strapless convertible ( i used to work there) it has removable straps and gel inserts... runs for about $45.00 but so worth it.. it can be used as a regular bra too.

  3. I have an excellent one by Lovable.

I think your best bet is to go into a specialty underwear store and ask for a professional fitting as every bra fits women differently.

  4. I am a D cup and let me tell you that standard strapless bras do not work.  And don't even waste time thinking about stick ons - they do nothing but weigh your b***s down even more!  What you need is a bra like these...

Trust me - I have wasted soooo much money trying to make my b***s look good!!!

  5. victoria secret but the bra is going to cost a arm and a leg

  6. Have you talked with her about having cups sewn into the dress?

This is what I had and it worked beautifully.  The seamstress simply sews in a couple of cups to the front of the lining of the dress and *presto* - instant bra!

I've heard it work great for sizes A - DD (I'm a 32A).  No bra to tug on or worry about showing.  If your seamstress doesn't seem open to this idea, you may want to find someone different to work with; it's a pretty common alteration made for wedding dresses.

RESPONSE TO THE ADDN'L DETAILS:  Okay, that sounds like she's trying to cop out of doing work.  If she is anywhere near a competent seamstress, she should be able to alter the top of your dress so that it lays properly and NOT relying on some undergarment to do the job (what if you do get a push-up and the wrinkles are still there?).  Is it too late to get a second opinion?

  8. Im a bigger chested woman and have always had problems with strapless bras, so I would always have to get a size smaller than normal, now of course that was really uncomfy...BUT when I went to Davids Bridal and got a bra there, well its just plain wonderful! Try it out...

  9. Try Victoria's Secret!

  10. Victoria's secret has great bras, try the very s**y convertable strapless and the very s**y strapless 100 way convertable bra.

  11. I just bought a Very s**y convertible bra in nude from Victoria's Secret a few days ago and just came back from trying on wedding dresses a few hours ago.  It worked great with all of the dresses I tried on.  I would highly recommend it.
