Stand by Me doesn't really have any monologues.

Not many monologues by River but the "Tree Dialogue" when he tells Gordie about the Milk Incident is very powerful IMO. A good monologue may be Gordie (as adult) explaining the fates of each kid. Thats a pretty good one. In fact every time The Writer speaks is a pretty good monolgue esque thing.  Also the dialogue between Gordie and Chris at the Body Site "my dad hates me..." is pretty powerful though not a monologue so...

Chris (River`s character): Wish the h**l I was your dad. You wouldn't be goin' around talkin' about takin' these stupid shop courses if I was. It's like God gave you something man, all those stories you can make up. And He said, "this is what we got for ya kid, try not to lose it." Kids lose everything unless there's someone there to look out for them. And if your parents are too fucked up to do it, then maybe I should!

He was really pissed at Gordie in this scene yet protective and sort of awed by Gordie`s talent too.

Other than that...it is true. There are not really any monologues from Stand by Me.
