I'm starting soccer soon. I want to improve my stamina and speed. Do you have any suggestions on a workout?

  1. Suicides. Sprint from the end line to half line then sprint back. Then sprint from end to end and do that everyday maybe ten times.

  2. stamina and speed, my brother is playin college soccer this fall at university of va and before he got there  for preseason, the coach told all the incomin freshman to do this routine to be prepared.

Monday Wednesday Friday-Run 1 mile, Ten 80 yard sprints

Tuesday Thursday Saturday-Run 2 miles, Ten 80 yard sprints

After doing this workout do 5 sets of 25 situps and pushups everyday, Sunday is your day off.

The mile runs will definitely give you endurance while the sprints will build your legs and you will be much faster. Good Luck

  3. Well, by the looks of your screen name, you do Tae Kwon Do correct?  If that is true, keep doing your TKD workout.  I would also add all of the "body weight" exercises that you can think of.  By that I mean, push ups, sit ups, leg lifts, squats and squat jumps, chin ups, pull ups, all of that stuff.  I would also do sprints as well.  That should square you away.  Also, make sure you are getting plenty of rest.  That is the one thing athletes over look more than anything else is rest.  Good luck.

  4. There's a great conditioning workout program by adidas. But, it's a six-week program, so it should keep going into your season. It consists of three days a week. Once you sign up, wait a week, and your first week's conditioning regimen should arrive in your inbox.

    www.adidas.com/training

At the bottom right, click "Train Like the Pros" or something like that.

The rest is pretty much self-explanatory.
