  2. I'm not sure. All the species I have seen were mostly good results. Unless bred by some stupid byb. Inbreeding is terrible in the wrong hands. But most purebred dogs and other animals are here because of inbreeding. So I'm not sure if there is a lot of study on depression. I have read about some of it, in some cats that were being studied but not sure how credible it would be for your report. Maybe talk to some zoo people? They deal in captive breeding projects and need some outcrossing to keep healthy.

  4. Inbreeding has probably been best studied in humans (Jukes, Kalikaks, Jackson Whites) and dogs.

  5. Try different types of dogs.  Inbreeding is very prevalent when breeders are trying to keep dogs purebred.  I think that dalmations and cocker spaniels have some of these problems.  Try looking in scholarly journals like American Journal of Veterinary Research, or Veterinary Medicine for peer reviewed articles.  Good Luck!

  6. A perfect example that is used in the natural world and the field I work in (Wildlife Management) is the Florida Panther in Florida.    Good Luck!
