  1. the best gifts are gift cards. also, writing a letter to the principal and/or the  board of education expressing how wonderful the teacher is and why, etc. is an excellent way to thank a teacher. another idea is to buy a canvas apron and have each child put their handprint on it with paint. the teacher can wear it for all the messy projects they do.

  2. I like things the children have made...not just been brought from shop display....one girl painted a handprint on a plate and decorated it...I still have it cos its so sweet!!!

Otherwise I find flowers and chocolates are always lovely gifts!!!

Or how about a book token ---if any of my parents are on here I desperately want some new textbooks hint hint :)

  3. Go and buy a few inexpensive canvases from a bargain shop and let your daughter paint them for the teachers. :)

Anything personal that has been made by the children is lovely.

  4. One of the best gifts I ever got when I was teaching preschool was a movie night basket.  One of my students was told to go pick out a basket from the dollar store and fill it with goodies for a movie night...candy, popcorn, tumblers, and mom topped it off with a $10 movie rental certificate to a local store.

Themed gift baskets are great and you can make them fit just about any budget.  I've also gotten spa gift baskets, dinner for two baskets....

Another nice idea is a framed photograph of your child with a thank you note on the back.

Try to steer away from the "teachery" themed apple gifts we all have too many of those than we know what to do with.

  5. A bottle of wine, a spa treatment, anything for them instead of the children they work with, depending on your budget any preschool teacher would be delighted and appreciative of your gift as it is the thought that counts. I think it is lovely that you are putting so much consideration in to buying a gift and would advise that when you give it what ever it is you also give your appreciation in some heartfelt words of thanks and apprecaition for the care and love thay have given to your daughter.

  6. A gas card or grocery card, nothing they'll have to keep up with or dust or find a place for.

  7. The best gift I ever received was from a little girl with a throughtful and creative mother.  The mother asked her daughter all kind of questions about me (what was her favorite story I read to her - favorite song we did - favorite activity - best thing about me) and wrote it on a separate page - then her daughter illustrate each page. I have kept that book and will always. It made me cry - didn't cost them a thing and I loved it!  We have so many knick knacks sitting around with world's greatest teacher on it - what can we do with them all? I do enjoy flowers and Bath and Bodywords lotion and soaps though.

  8. Two words-gift cards!  Video rentals, movies, restaurants, book stores.  I always appreciate these from my students!

  9. Hi!

    I suggest trying www.creanta.com

They offer beautiful hand made paintings made from your favorite photograph or a loved one’s favorite photograph.

They’re very affordable and accommodate special painting requirements.

What I like about them is that they are reeeeaally good at capturing the physical likeness, something others can’t do.  I was extremely happy with the results.

    Best wishes!!

  10. Chocolate or candles.

  11. Any school supplies gift cards so they can pick their own.. stores like Lakeshore, Swains, Target...

  12. I am finding out alot of teachers don't like teacher saying gifts. (they generally have too much already)  So, we have an embroidery company and make simple sweatshirts for them.  With a cute design on it.  I have also gotten Bath and Bodyworks soaps and spa items.  You may also get stickers and stamps that they put on papers for good jobs.  Some of the stuff they use they pay for themselves.

  13. something that can be used in the classroom is always nice, an educational toy or a picturebook which can be shared by the class.

    or

a relaxing gift such as a home spa treatment from the bodyshop, to unwind after a hectic day!
