i live in Paoli, PA. I've gone to three really nice, upscale, popular hair salons in attempt to get a really modern edgy cut. I've gone to Jean Madeline, The Corinthian, and Marianne Christopher's. They are all really nice salons dont get me wrong. Each time i got a nice cute cut. but thats the thing... I DIDNT ASK TO LOOK CUTE! i brought in pictures of haircuts that were borderline emo. i sit down and tell them i want REALLY choppy layers all over. and i tell them to NOT be afraid to just chop up my hair cuz thats what i want thats the style im going for and so they sit me down and give me a cut that is.... pretty. thats not my style. i rock out to alexisonfire and evanescence and wear purple skinny jeans and rocker tees. in my free time im the lead singer and bass guitarist in my band. can someone PLEASE tell me a place that will actually do what i want. i dont care about cost anymore and i dont care about how far it is. [but preferably in the state =)] id drive out to philly if i had to. just PLEASE HELP ME!!

  1. Toni & Guy?

  2. well,

I'm super glad I know which bands you listen to. Now I know EXACTLY where to refer you to.

    XD

    Anyways,

pro hairstylers will dress your hair to the best to suit your face. You may not like it, but that's what your face looks best in.

The only way to get something exact, is to bring a picture of the EXACT cut you want and tell them you want EXACTLY that (within reason, of course. Varying thickness and color of hair will make it look slightly different.)

If a stylist that is experienced is given a pic of what the person wants, but their hair is much thicker, it'll look different than someone with fine hair, even though it's the same cut. So find a cut that matches thickness, and with a model with the same face shape as your's.

    Good Luck! :)

  3. You're supposed to get "emo" hair accidently by cutting your own hair. No real "indie rocker" would pay top dollar for a haircut. They won't pay any money for a haircut.

You are totally losing your "scenester/hipster points" by paying money for a haircut.

PS A good hair stylist won't have to hear suggestions for your cut, they will automatically give you what will look great for your face. But that doesn't help you look cool.
