I need a higher toe touch and herkie???????

Heyy this week i am in cheer camp to prepare me for cheerleading tryouts and its really fun but when we practiced our toe touches and herkies mine (and a couple other peoples) only went off the floor like 1 to 2 feet!!! but it was my first time ever doing them. i'm going to try out for middle school cheerleading and i want an awesome toe touch and herkie.. how can i make my toe touch and herkie higher????!! any good stretches??? thnx!! =D

  1. for a toe touch sit in a straddle position as wide as you can and reach forward. for a herkie sit with one leg straight in front of you and the other bent and reach forward. also stretch splits. practice these jumps in front of a mirror so you can see whay you need to improve! good luck!


  2. omg i loved cheerleading i cheered for 5 years and my toe touches were really high. I stretch alot and eat lots of protein. Some stretches i did was: 1. I laid on my back facing the wall and i would put my leg on the wall and lean up and try to touch my nose to the wall. when you do that alot you will be able to touch your nose to your knee soon.

    2. i would have a partner and we would stand up and she would put my leg on her shoulder and walk closer to me until it hurt. and when it hurts she would hold where it was for 20 seconds.

    3. i would have a partner and we would sit down and open are legs and connect our feet and we would hold hands and then she would pull me to her and hold for 25 seconds and then we would switch. i hope you love cheerleading like i did.
